The area has something for everyone; culture, beaches, sports, amazing food and wine, shopping and even nightlife if you hit the vibrant cities nearby. It is an undiscovered gem for walkers, trail runners and cyclists (both road and mountain biking) and then there is the amazing scenery all around you.
Close by are the many fortifed Spanish and Portuguese towns dotted along the River Minho, where you can find great food. Add to that the numerous bodegas and wine routes that criss cross the whole region and offer some of the very best Spanish wines literally right on your doorstep.
The beaches near by in Vigo can be reached in under an hour, with the stunning yachting town of Baiona also worth a visit (1 hr 20mins). Not to be missed are some of Europe’s finest coves and inlets on the Cangas peninsula and Cies Islands. There are also hidden gems much closer to home, such as the Playa Fluvial (literally 'river beach') swimming area at Maceira less than 10 minutes drive from the house.
You are sure to find many special places of your own if you take the time to get to know this wonderful region. However if you simply want to relax, perhaps cook a little, and sample the excellent local wine, then the house with its terraces and pool, is just the place to do that.
